The Leadership Challenge

Leaders Want to Be Better—But They Don’t Always Know How

You’ve promoted smart, capable people into leadership roles. But without clear guidance, even the best leaders can feel unsure of how to inspire, align, or grow their teams. The Leadership Challenge® gives them a proven path forward. Grounded in decades of research by Kouzes and Posner, this framework helps leaders build credibility, increase engagement, and lead with intention—using the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership®.

1
Step 1: Take the LPI® Assessment
Each leader completes a self-assessment, while 10–15 colleagues provide confidential feedback. The LPI® offers clear, research-backed insights into how the leader is perceived—what’s working and where to grow.
2
Step 2: One-on-One Coaching Debrief
We meet privately with each leader to unpack their results in a thoughtful, supportive conversation. This is about insight, not evaluation—building self-awareness and motivation to lead more effectively.
3
Step 3: Team Learning Journey
Across eight interactive sessions, the team explores each of the Five Practices together. Every participant receives a digital copy of The Leadership Challenge® Workbook and puts new behaviors into practice between sessions.

A more aligned, courageous, and connected leadership team—speaking a common language and growing together.

Most Leaders Want to Be Better—
But Don’t Know What to Change

You’ve promoted smart, capable people into leadership roles. But without clear feedback, they’re left to guess how to build trust, inspire action, or drive results. That’s where we come in. At Raleigh Consulting Group, we use The Leadership Challenge®—a proven, practical framework backed by 40+ years of research—to help leaders grow through feedback, practice, and accountability.
1

Leadership Practices Inventory® (LPI)

A 360-degree assessment that reveals what leaders are doing well—and where they need to improve—by gathering confidential feedback from peers, direct reports, and supervisors.

2

Eight-Week Coaching Journey

We coach individuals and teams over an eight-week program that builds confidence, strengthens relationships, and drives real behavior change.

The Five Practices—with Real Examples
1. Model the Way
When leaders use it:
A manager starts every meeting on time and sticks to the agenda—just like they asked the team to do. They live the values they talk about.
When they don’t:
A leader talks about respect but interrupts people constantly. Trust drops. The team tunes out.
2. Inspire a Shared Vision
3. Challenge the Process
4. Enable Others to Act
5. Encourage the Heart
